"We Know Who We Are": Strategies to Center Queer and Trans Youth in Affirmative Healthcare

April 5, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

On April 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in William Pitt Union Dining Room B, Kate Eldridge (an undergraduate student in children's literature and anthropology) will host a panel and Q&A on healthcare involving queer and trans youth.

Kate says: "This event is based on this research and the amazing people I have me throughout the past few years doing amazing work with queer and trans young people. There will be a panel of adult allies doing programs or research with queer and trans young people, as well as a panel of local queer and trans young people speaking for themselves. There will be a specific focus on queer and trans young people with intersecting marginalized identities, such as queer and trans young people of color or queer and trans people with disabilities or chronic illnesses."

Panelists will include Julian Gill Peterson, PhD; Gerald Montano, DO, MS; Alicyn Simpson, Trans Buddy PGH; Michael David Battle, Garden of Peace; and Charlie Borowicz, MPH, MSW.

Food will be provided!
