Doctoral student Sreemoyee Dasgupta wins Judith Plotz Emerging Scholar Award!

Congratulations to Sreemoyee Dasgupta for winning the Judith Plotz Emerging Scholar from the Children's Literature Association! This award recognizes a particularly promising new scholar who has published an article in the field. Sreemoyee won for her article, "Child Labour in India: Literature Representations Along the Trajectory of Nation," which appeared in IRCL 11.2 (December 2018). According the the awards committee, the article "adds significantly to existing understandings of childhood with its discussion of how childhood is conceptualized in the Global South."
